‘Tuckeroo’ A FILM FEATURING Jaleesa VincenT

“LIVE YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE THE MOULD, BLOW OFF ALL THE EMPTY TALK. WALK YOUR OWN WALK.” - JOAN JETT

If you want to watch a film about a typical surfer girl you’ve come to the wrong place... This is about tap dancing in cane fields, jumping into bushes, playing metal and surfing. It’s about creativity and being an individual. It’s about a funny girl, Jaleesa Vincent who’s a bit socially awkward and shows us that being different is fucking cool.

When we first met up with Jaleesa in Australia, our first stop was the Bowls Club for a chicken palmy and XXXX ‘scooey’. We found ourselves crying laughing at some toothless guy and that Coco (our photographer) had gotten a raw piece of chicken for her lunch. So the shoot begins. Tap dancing at the Yandina pub, roaming through abandon golf clubs, falling over in cane fields, playing cards and drinking beer to early hours of the morning. Exactly what a shoot about Jaleesa should consist of. Jaleesa is a female surfer dancing to her own beat…get it! and hopefully there are many more out there waiting to reveal themselves.

“In year 7 I was the singer of a band called Hypnotize. We played at a nursing home and one of the elderly passed away while we were playing. Maybe because we played a Kings of Leon cover. Anyway I made a promise to myself that I would never do that again. Still to this day I have kept that promise.”
